Setting up Teamviewer for remote connection

Intro

In this tutorial, you will learn how to set up TeamViewer. TeamViewer is an application that lets your tutor control your computer remotely. I use this application to help my students learn how to use flashcards more easily.

Tutorial

Download the TeamViewer application from their website. Begin installation by opening the file. Choose Basic installation and Personal / Non-commercial use. Click Accept – finish. Wait for the installation to finish.

Open the application. You can skip the intro screen. Click close in the bottom right corner.

Give your ID and Password to your tutor by email or chat.

Create an account and add your tutor to your contacts (optional)

You can create an account with TeamViewer and add your tutor to your list of contacts. Click on the sign up button in the window on the right:

Choose a username and password and click Next.

Create a name and password for your computer (it can be the same as the previous window)

Click Finish

Check your email to verify your account

You will receive an email from TeamViewer with a link. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder. Click the link to verify your account.

Add your tutor’s email to your list of contacts

In the TeamViewer application, login to your account

Click Add contact.

Type in your tutor’s email address and click OK.

Now you can connect with your tutor easily without using an ID and password.
